Fear and Bigotry in New York: Paladino VS Homosexuality

Ahhh, finally.  At first I only had a few things to say about Carl Paladino.  His thinly veiled threats to end the lives and physically harm a reporter and his opponent on multiple occasions was one nice one.  His forwarding of porn, bestiality and racist posts was another.  Now he has openly said that homosexuals are not equal to everyone else, that homosexuality is a choice people make and that children learning acceptance is brainwashing!  He even DEFENDS his argument by saying that he is not convinced it is not a choice.  He even takes the time to argue by saying he is not homophobic...even if he is and he continually spits out that his cousin is homosexual and that makes what he said ok!.

 And now he blames thebacklash against him on his opponent, not the fact that he is a bigot.

All of this during a wave of anti-gay violence that has stained the world with the blood of those who are considered different and through media and political bias have been labeled as second class citizens.  It is sickening when people who are considered politicians play a key role in these incidences by attacking the gay community.  Paladino openly says he does not want violence against gays, but by saying that they are not equal is the same damn thing.  By condoning the bias you are condoning the violence.  By using inflammatory language like 'brainwashed' it gives off the idea that this is some sort of insidious plot and that will help feed the fire.

It both sickens and saddens me that these kinds of people are even considered for public office.  They are clearly attacking these people for being different and using flimsy logic from the bible as their only true backup and making up every other bit of evidence they have for why it should not be the norm.  It sickens me and I hope one day these people realize that the blood is on their hands.
