A Downward Spiral: Hate, race and other common day happenings. Also: my hiatus.

 I am really getting fed up with the way things are going recently in our world today.  I will highlight a few examples.

To start with the hate:  Memphis police beat a transsexual prostitute with handcuffs wrapped around his fist because she would not respond to the term “he-she” and “fag”.  Here is the kicker…it was in the police station.  Another police officer held her shoulders back as he beat her in the face and then sprayed her face with mace.  AND NO ONE HELPED HER.  People stood around and watched as he sprayed mace into her open wounds and eyes.  When a nurse arrived they did not even help her!  This is infuriating.  I can’t believe we live in a world where such injustice goes on and no one helps.  I can’t believe it.  Have we become so…callous towards one another that you can watch someone get hit in the face with handcuffs over and over again and just let that happen?

And now for the race portion of my outrage:  Sharron Angle who recently was put under the spotlight for using dark-skinned men in ads to try and scare people about illegal immigration, while lying in the same adds about Harry Reids record, recently went in front of a group of Hispanic students and said that not only do they look Asian, but that she has been called Nevada’s first Asian legislator…and she is not Asian.  Really?  So not only can you not tell the difference between different minorities because they apparently look all the same…but your claiming to be called Asian when you are not to try and drive home your point that you could be Asian too?  Really?  How in the hell is she ACTUALLY making headway in this election?  Her comment regarding a political ad with Latinos sneaking behind a fence in a menacing way is just as bad.  She says that it represents our northern boarder.  Now, here is our issue here.  She is running for senate in Nevada and 90% of her argument is about their southern boarder.  However, she is saying that she is talking about northern.  So that means that she is either afraid of Oregon, Idaho or Canada.  I don't buy it and neither did the students.  All of the boarder focus has been southern so far, and thus this is bullshit.

And now for something that is more and more common.  Christine O’Donnell has no idea that separation of church and state is protected in the constitution.  No clue.  She was actually shocked when she found out.  She did not believe it!  Even her campaign manager stumbled when he said that she “was not questioning the concept of separation of church and state as subsequently established by courts.  She simply made the point that the phrase appears nowhere in the constitution.”  Here is the issue.  Coons read the exact texts from the 1^st amendment and she did not realize that the phrase, ”Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, “ is in the first amendment.  It is the very beginning of it!  And she said it in a room full of law students.

This is all driving me insane.  It pains me to realize just how poor our state of affairs is and I think I need a break.  I am going to take a hiatus and post infrequently while I begin to work on my novel for National Novel Writing Month.

You have the right to not ask any questions: Reporter detained for asking questions

So, remember when there was a time when people had their rights properly protected by senators and the government?  Well it seems one tea party candidate has decided he is above the law.  During an event held at a public middle school an editor attempts to ask a question regarding the senators past where he was disciplined while working as a attorney for using firm equipment to try and oust someone who was in public office.  When he tried to ask this question he was surrounded by guards and Miller supporters and felt threatened so he shoved someone back away from him.

He was then handcuffed by the security for ‘trespassing’ (their argument is that they rented the ENTIRE PUBLIC MIDDLE SCHOOL for the event…bullshit….) and when people started recording the situation they were told THEY were trespassing and were asked to leave by the same security guards.  A police officer arrived, demanded the editor be released and took his statement.  After standing and recording this exchange for a while no one else was arrested.

In the end the security guards said they had the right to declare anyone as trespass because they rented the space.  They also held that the editor was ‘stalking’ miller and posed a security threat…because he wanted to ask a few questions.

It’s hilarious that demonizing people who are trying to sort out exactly who these people are has become the thing to do in this day and age.  You don’t think your public image is what you want it to be?  Say the media is attacking you because they are all part of the liberal conspiracy against you and those who want to believe it will play right along.  Who gives a shit what is fact or fiction?  Who cares what actually happened?  They will support you because you just keep lying and they don’t want to trust anyone else.

LIGHTNING ROUND: TRUTH EDTION

It seems now days we have a problem with the truth.  Instead, people seem to be favoring bullshit to facts.  In this edition of the lightning round I am going to comment on some of the lies I missed his week.

1.   And still she insists on lying!

Sharon Angle and Harry Reid debated the issues recently and traded blows back and forth on some serious issues.  Even though they had a good debate on a host of serious issues…it seems he still insists on spreading bullshit arguments.  In this article there is a video of part of the debate where she continually says Harry Reid voted to give tax breaks to illegal aliens and to give illegal’s social security benefits.  (timestamp 2:44)  She not only says she is right, but then avoids to give any serious response.  She starts talking about everything else.

2.        The deficit is drowning us?  Not so much.

In the 2010 Deficit report it seems that the deficit is going DOWN even though it is still over  $1 Trillion.  I know this flies in the face of everyone saying that Obama is drowning our country in debt but the truth is that it is getting better!

3.        They say they want peace but they keep waging war

It seems that Israel is shooting its chances of peace with Palestine in the foot!  Even though they are in the middle of peace talks, Israel is now saying they want to construct 238 new housing units in East Jerusalem.  They like to pretend that they want peace but when it comes down to the line they only care about themselves.

4.        I got 99 problems but paperwork aint one!

It seems Wells Fargo & Co. is refusing to close their foreclosures even though one of their employee’s testified that she signed up to 500 foreclosure documents DAILY without reading them!  The fact that even though this company has ruined a good number of lives under false pretenses they now want to continue this process.  And we want to save them…why?

5.        Your reforms are inert!

And now for toxic chemicals!  It seems that even though there are laws banning companies from putting certain chemicals in water bottles, baby blankets and anti-bacterial soaps the same law does not give the government does not demand that the company prove they are safe!  Government tests have shown that companies have failed to meet these standards.  Some politicians vowed to fix it but ended up giving up…most likely after getting a lot of money.

Don’t ask, don’t tell: Don’t ask congress what its opinion is or it won’t get done, and don’t tell them how it should be

It seems the Obama administration is officially going back on its word about don’t ask, don’ tell!  For those of you playing the home game, recently a judge stood up to this racist policy and struck down don’t ask, don’ tell which means that it cannot be enforced!  This is a huge win for the LGBT community as it is for all freedom loving people.  However, it appears that the Obama Administration is not OK with this.  I guess because they were not the ones to get it through the senate it is not their win.

The Justice department has asked to appeal the federal court ruling and to have a stay on the ruling so that the government ‘can allow for an orderly transition to a policy allowing openly gay men and women to serve in the US military. 

Our president believes that this is something that congress should handle, something I find to be absolute bullshit!  What the hell has Obama put through the congress that has actually fucking worked as well as they wanted it to?  Health care?  Bullshit!  That bill is nothing like what they wanted it to be and they fucking know it!  Instead they would rather turn this back and thus RISK THE POSSIBILITY that it won’t be passed AGAIN!  AGAIN!  It failed one all ready, remember?

The fact that he is putting political gain over equal rights makes me fucking sick.

A bit too late for that now: The tea party and bailing on ideas that seemed like a good idea at the time

So, we have another pattern here that I think is total bullshit and I feel the need to call these guys on it.  Lets’ start with my favorite crackpot, Sharron Angle!  She is utterly full of shit and a local new group took it on!  Huffpo has the link to the video embedded I will link it.  In the ad they follow through a list of attacks made by Reid against her.  He plays video of her stating positions like:

*Phasing out Medicare

*Population decreasing and that is the reason why schools don’t need funding

*Congress keeps going the way it is people are looking to second amendment remedies and they should ‘take out’ Reid

*And one more attack that is not 100%

So this lady is a bold faced liar.  She turns around and says she never said the exact things she literally said.  This is utter bullshit and even though she will do this she is STILL a contender for the race!?  What happened to common sense and decency?  What happened to telling the truth?

And here is another kick in the nuts from one Carl Paladino!  In case you missed it, on yesterdays exciting episode of the News Fatwa I outlined some incredibly insane things he had to say about the gay and lesbian community.  Now today it comes out that he has cashed in on rent money from 2 different gay clubs in Buffalo!  The gay nephew that Paladino used to say “oh hey, I’m not homophobic…my nephew is gay…” is offended as well (and so he should be)!  Now he has come out to say he is sorry for his comments when the damage is all ready done.  Oh…and Ann Coulter defended his bullshit.  You end up in her corner only when the devil himself is considering backing away from you.
