I’m back! After a beautiful weekend I am going to jump right and look into some bullshit that seems to be floating around today!
The first person I am having an issue with is Rand Paul. In a recent debate regarding the bush tax cuts, it came up that if he wants to balance the budget how can he continue supporting these huge tax cuts. His argument, which is horribly painful to listen to, is that since those tax cuts are all ready in effect he does not consider that money lost by the state. That is insane! It’s like if you were working and every pay day some guy decides he am going to go to your house, walk into your kitchen and take $100 and leave. When you realize you need to save more money…it’s like saying ‘Oh, I don’t consider that hundred dollars a month lost money because it’s always gone.’ Bullshit. Bullshit bullshit bullshit.
And here is another winner! Sen. Jim DeMint let out a bombshell when he came out to say that if someone is a homosexual or an unmarried woman who is sleeping with her boyfriend they shouldn’t be teachers! That’s right! You can’t teach if your relationship does not fit within the christian sinless family format according to this guy! He has since then tried to back down from that statement saying that he said that because 'clearly said something as a father I shouldn’t have said’ and says by proxy in the same statement that unwed mothers and homosexuals teaching is harming our children! Ahhh the bullshit is strong with this one!
And people need to realize that just because you don’t agree with something does not make it unconstitutional. In a discussion about rolling back power of the federal government that minimum wage should be a state issue, not a federal issue. In a country where a large amount of people make minimum wage, a lowered minimum wage could be devastating to a family who needs that money to survive. Having a federal minimum wage allows the government to ensure the rug is not pulled out from under these people. However, suddenly whenever anyone decides they don’t agree with something the government is doing it is unconstitutional unless it is stopping gay marriage. The health care bill is another perfect example.
I know this post just kind of leaked all over the place but I am a bit more focused on a writing contest I am working on. Combichrist is having a contest where you write a horror story to get the chance to go to one of their concerts. That will be posted on my FB in the next few days!
